Have you ever had a business trip?
According to the majority, most employees would invite the family or a friend on a work trip, and I would not even tell his head.
A new Youugov survey commissioned by the luxury hotel chain Crowne Plaza revealed that 74% of employees would invite a family or friend member on a work trip, and almost one in five admit that they have already done so without saying their businessman, Business Insider said.
Everything is part of an increasing trend called “Travel Blended” or “Bleisure”, in which business travelers mix leisure time by adding personal time or carrying their loved ones on the trip.
It is especially attractive to Z Z and Millennials, which value labor-life balance more than previous generations, according to psychologist Jean Twenge.
“They do not want their work to be their entire life,” Twenge said, emphasizing that younger workers are often less linked by family obligations that could prevent these trips.
However, many employees still doubt being at the forefront of bringing one. Twenge suggests that this may be because newer workers are not sure about workplace rules, especially when they only find their position in professional environments.
But some entrepreneurs begin to embrace change.
Ginger Taggart, Vice President of the Management of Premium Brand brands at IHG Hotels & Resorts, said that many companies now support mixed travel, and that they are now fostering it, emphasizing the presence of another can help reduce stress.
“It allows all their labor force and its employees to benefit from the productivity of their commercial demands, but at the same time their life enriches,” said Taggart.
Still, the limits matter. Stephan Meier, a professor at Columbia Business School, emphasized that entrepreneurs should set clear expectations.
If the working day ends at 5 pm and the afternoons are free, there may be no evil in a guest equipment. But when dinners and team creation events are part of the itinerary, it can be a little harder to steal.
That is why some use their work trips to start a holiday by adding additional days to PTO: Some hotels have taken note.
The increase in “Bleisure” trips has the real ones that extend the duration of their hotel stays and seek to reserve tourist destinations, especially all inclusive properties, according to a travel forecast of Hilton 2024.
To quench these travelers, hotels add peloton bicycles, pillow menus, digital room keys, many outlets, wireless load tablets on night tables and more.
“Bleisure’s continued increase is the remodeling of business travel standards, as professionals seek to balance productivity with significant personal experiences,” said Gary Steffen, a global category head, full service brands in Hilton, in Fast Company.
“Today’s travelers want each trip to count. As such, we are focused on delivering satisfactory stays in which work and relaxation meet perfectly, supported by thoughtful designed spaces, a vibrant atmosphere, dynamic bars and restaurants, customized service and exceptional well -being experiences.”
